Dojo Loach is a freshwater fish of loach family and native to Asia. It is very popular as an aquarium fish throughout the world. Dojo loach is also known by an alternate name Weather Loach due to their ability to detect changes in barometric pressure at the time of likely storms. Dojo loach is a hardy fish that can live in poor quality water and can also survive out of water for some time. Besides being popular aquarium fish, Dojo Loach is also a common food fish in East Asia, where they are grown in large scale through fish farming.

Dojo loach is a slender and eel-like fish that can grow up to 30cm (1 feet) long. They come in various colors ranging from yellow to olive green and lighter brown or grey. Their mouth is surrounded by three sets of barbels, which are used to sift through silt or pebbles to locate their food. Besides, they also use the barbels to to dig under gravel and sand to hide them in case of threats from their predators. Dojo loach is a bottom-dwelling scavenger and feeds mainly on on algae and other organic materials and small aquatic creatures.
