Dusky Grouper is one of the tastiest and most commonly known grouper fish that can be found in the Mediterranean Sea, the coast of Brazil and North Africa Coast. In many countries, dusky grouper is regarded as a delicacy and remains as the most preferred items in restaurants.
Dusky grouper has a big body with a big mouth, a long dorsal fin and a rounded tail. Depending upon the season and the age, the color of dusky grouper may vary from brown to green, being green in the younger ones and brown with yellow spots in the adults. Dusky grouper tend to be solitary fish that likes to live along in rocks at depths up to 60 meters and at a distance of 0-300 meters from coast, younger ones near to the coast and adults at depths. They mainly feed on small fish, crabs and octopus. It is considered as one the major predators in the Mediterranean Sea.
