The Black Moor Goldfish is exactly like the Telescope Goldfish, except that it is black in color. It belongs to the Cyprinidae family of fish species. Compared to the common goldfish, the Black Moor Goldfish has a rounder body and is sometimes egg-shaped. Its protruding bulbous eyes are its most prominent feature. Its color is velvet black due to metallic scales that are richly colored. Fins are long and flowing.

Black Moor Goldfish make ideal pets because they can survive in cold temperatures. Every goldfish collector is sure to have this species in his or her tank, as the Black Moor is one of the most favored species of goldfish around the world.

Young Black Moor Goldfish are dark bronze in color with eyes that are not protruding. As these fish mature, their colors become black and the eyes become telescopic. Interestingly, when placed on warmer water, some black moor goldfish?s colors can turn to metallic orange, just like the common goldfish.
